Who do you complain to about the programming that is on all tv channels?

It seems that all stations show the same movies all the time and have so much paid programming to be ridiculous. Tv is almost difficult to watch. Some channels show the same movies for 3 days in a row or the same movie every few days. I can't afford the Movie channels and yet you have to pay to watch regular tv not counting just your local channels. Isn't there someone who can control this in some way? Am I the only one who feels this way? I have dish network but have had direct in the past and it's still the same. TV is my family's only source of entertainment. We are poor and really can't afford to rent movies. So, can't something be done?

Sorry I don't know who to notify but I totally angree!!! we can't afford to go out and why should we if we prefer to relax at home? t.v. is horrilbe, yes the same movies over and over, and tons of commercials. There are so many commericals it's no wonder children become affected with attention deficit disorder--you can't stay focused! I try channel surfing to kill the time, then i forget what channel I was watching- its nuts.
and where I live its constant John Wayne movies, day after day,-- i am so sick of his face,lol- i am thinking of getting rid of t.v. like some of our friends have.

The reason a network repeats the same program over a number a days in different timeslots is to accommodate those who can't watch a certain program at a certain time. They don't expect their viewers to be watching their channel all of the time. This isn't the old days of broadcast TV when you only had four or five channels over the air. With over 250 channels available (if you can afford it), very likely you're picking and choosing which channel to watch.

This is a judgment/values call on my part, but maybe the best thing to do is cut off the cable or satellite and find something more meaningful to do than just watch TV for entertainment. I don't find myself watching the satellite TV except for certain sporting events, HGTV, or Food Network. Most of my viewing is off broadcast if at all, so, for myself, I'd seriously consider cutting my own satellite and save the $51/mo for something else.

Instead of renting movies, your local public library may have a selection of DVDs you could borrow for nothing, as long as you return them on time. While you're there, borrow a book.

You can complain to the Federal Communications Communication, your provider of your tv services, or go online and type in the station or show and complain to them. I'm convinced that all we pay for no matter what we have are infomercials and commercials.
