My homepage shows Yahoo, but when I log in it goes to this page http://protectionwarning.com and I can't make it stop. What can I do to make it go away.

Since your homepage is pointing to http://protectionwarning.com/ , this means your PC is infected with a trojan called Zlob Trojan. Of course it is important to get rid of protectionwarning.com, but it is just as important to also remove the Zlob Trojan that implanted it there. In my experience, a program called SpyNoMore is your best bet in removing the Zlob trojan. By removing this trojan, you will also get rid of protectionwarning.com. Another symptom of Zlob Trojan is that it generates fake warning messages like:

System Alert
Critical System Error
System Performance monitor warning
Security Alert: NetWorm-i.Virus@fp
W32.Myzor.FK@yf

You got a hijacker from that so called freeware you downloaded! Find a malware removal tool and you mite be lucky enuff to get rid of it but before you try, you will need to uninstall that freeware or it will load right back in! Next time you see something that says its free, read the contract in full! It will tell you its going to install 3rd party software! Thats where your jacker came from!

You should have Windows Defender. It is free from Microsoft and watches your system prevents programs from taking over your home page etc.

Go here to read about and get it - http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security...
