It's kinda nice, yet very intimidating at the same time. You love to see the snow fall. It was beautiful tonight falling. And when everything turns white from all the snow, it can be the most beautiful site to see. Then reality hits, when you realize you have to drive somewhere. I saw on the news tonight that 69, a major hiway here, had all kinds of slid offs and wrecks. Including many police cars! Smashed! You know some people had to be hurt. And as a parent, you worry if you have a teenager out there that has to get home. We took a drive to grandmas house, only about two miles from our house tonight. And in a big open field we stopped and watched ten, we counted, deer eating. Watching them in the snow with all the snow falling was really cool. And then there are the snowmen you get to make. That's kinda fun. It has to be a packing snow though. This one isn't. It's a really fine light snow. That kind doesn't pack together to make snow balls or snow men. The dogs love getting out in the snow to play. They really do. Except I have one, a min pin, who is really small, and he doesn't like the cold at all. I'v got to get him one of those little doggy coats. I wish they made boots for him! The snow is high enough to rub his little belly, so it's hard for him to pee outside. Kinda cold when "it's" stuck right in the snow! LOL! So, we have to dig him out a little path and spot to go. And our water pipes froze up the other day! That just plain sucks! We got it all fixed though and no major problems from it thank goodness! A blowdryer did the trick. School was cancelled today because of the below temps. And with all the snow today, I'm sure it will be tomorrow. So far they just have it as a two hour delay. But, with as cold as it is going to be tonight with all the snow, it will freeze bad on the roads and they will wind up cancelling in the morning. My kids will be happy, again. I won't be as happy, but at least they are safe off of the roads and out of the freezing temps. So, it's good and bad. Just depends on what you have to do and where you have to go.

I lived all my childhood in snow. It is pretty walking in the early morning the crunching sound of the snow. Nothing like Christmas with snow. The flakes falling so softly. But is is very cold and icy too. Thank God not everyone has the same tastes, some love to live in it. I cannto take the cold anymore. But it is so beautiful. A Real experience and something everyone should experience.

It has it's moments, it's a great time to toboggan, go snow boarding, skiing, snowmobiling, skating on a frozen pond etc., but after awhile it gets boring.
In Alberta, Canada we get the snow but also the frigid cold (it's -30 C and dropping tonight) and anything in between or above or below, we get sun and rain too during winter days (anything goes nowadays). At the start of winter (or anytime after September), the falling snow is quite nice however it gets annoying. You don't appreciate it as much when you have to shovel the white crap every week or so, especially this winter (GRR).
I can honestly say that I miss the warm weather and can't wait till spring and summer.

It's lovely. In England UK when you're in the warm and watching the snow fall and settle, it makes you see the beauty of the trees. When everything loses it's leaves it gives the plant a chance to show off it's sculptured side. Everything is white (just like the Christmas cards). It makes you feel romantic, even though if you're out in it you can't wait to get back inside because of the cold. When the snow falls it's time to look forward to the Spring, Summer, Autumn....... Wonderful.

You need extra clothing in your wardrobe, like: winter boots, thick socks, snow pants; very warm jacket with a hood and mittens.
You need snow tires on your vehicle, and a block heater installed next to your vehicle engine so it will start in cold weather.
You need a shovel and maybe a snowblower to clear your driveway and steps so you can get out of your house to the street.
You can lie down on the snow and "wave" your arms and legs, and when you get up, there is the shape of a SNOW ANGEL in the snow - honest

the odds are unless you are in the antartic, that you will have very distinct seasons, you look forward to the changes in seasons and the changes in the weather, and though it is -25 celcius 4 feet from me right now on the oher side of the window, and that i hate shoveling the snow, i wouldn't like no changes in seasons which would happen if i was closer to the equator, i also wouldn't experience the change in sunset and sunrise times.
in a way i guess that the main thing that living in a climate that has snow is that it gives you something to look forward to, hope per se, when it is too hot you look forward to cold and in the cold you look forward to the warmth of summer.

Definite change of pace. You are definitely more interior bound when it gets cold. It is dirtier(in a way) as the car is not washed as often. Get to have more house parties., ski parties, snow activities. People are friendlier when they are not stuck with their vehicles.
