Enlightenment was advances in the sciences and our understanding of the world around us. The great awakening was a religious rebirth, a redevotion to god, and actually, in many ways, was spurred by the enlightenment. Christians believed advances in science and deist views detracting from what they saw as the one true faith. To reinvigorate their parishoners and turn them back toward god, they had to make religion exciting and the main focus of their lives. Hope that helps.
