So she didn't have to waste time on a bathroom break. Astronauts on the shuttle wear them during the de orbit, re-entry and landing phase of a shuttle mission as they can't go to the bathroom for several hours. Sounds like it was the only sensible decision she made during the whole incident.

Proving that for all the degrees and accomplishments,
astronauts are people too.
I would add that they are people under a HUGE amount
of pressure - its amazing we don't see more odd behavior.
