The 4th Season of The Wire is not available on DVD yet. It probably won't be in the near future, but I could be wrong. They released Season 3 a few months before the start of Season 4, probably to build buzz for the newer season. They might do the same for Season 4 (though we don't know when Season 5 starts.)
It might be released earlier, though, due to the even greater critical acclaim for this past season.

you can buy it at your local video warehouse or video store. the wire is seen on BET during nightime now.
