Does anyone use city specialists? Are they worth it? How do you use them? What about free specialists? How do they work?

Here's a breakdown of specialists...
1)Specialists create stuff in hammers, beakers, culture, and commerce. They do not produce food.
2)Specialists generate GPP(great people points) towards a super specialist of that type(scientists for great scientists, priests for prophets, etc.)
3)Specialists are best used in high-food situations.
4)Specialists benefit from the civics Representations(all specialists create an extra +3 beakers), Caste System(Unlimited scientists, artists, and merchants), and the wonders Sistine Chapel(all specialists create a bonus 2 culture) and Angkor Wat(all priest specialists generate one bonus hammer)

As for if they're worth it...that, like so much in CIV, relies upon your situation and your civilization. Obviously, Philosophical leaders have high synergy for a "specialist economy"(it is what it sounds like...gold, beakers, everything is based in specialists.), but everyone can benefit from specialists.
