Hello *unknown*,

There is nothing on Safari to effect your sound. Do you have a Mute button on your keyboard? I know that the laptops do, but perhaps you may have muted your Macintosh Mini, or turned the sound way down on it by mistake.

You may need to get into your System Preferences settings. Under the Hardware heading, there's a Sound icon. Click on that. Depending upon what version of the Operating System that you have, (I have Tiger and) the Output volume slider is at the bottom and there is a Mute box that needs to be unchecked.

I hope that it's something simple like this. Best of luck to you, *unknown*.

Try reinstalling Flash Player, as these sites use this.
To be sure they ARE reinstalled,
Go to the folder Macintosh HD/Library/Internet Plug-ins
Remove the three flash plugins, then reinstall.
I also recommend you install the Perian Quicktime plugin, a free download. This includes a plethora of AV decoders for the Mac, which will help stop such content not working, though I don't think it will help in this case.

2 good possibilities
1) you muted the mac... like the previous poster said.
2) you plugged something into the speaker/headset port. The mac shuts off the internal speaker when something is plug in (by default)

is the sound off only in safari or everywhere on the mac???

update:

ok safari only... very strange... do you get sound in firefox from the same websites?

if yes, you clobbered safari (pretty hard)
if no, you clobbered some quicktime.

either case, it's pretty weird!!

it may be time see if it works under another user or even worse.. removing all safari prefs & re-installing
