I agree with the idea of universal health care, but I am not familiar with the specifics of John Edwards' plan.
Then you say that wealthy people are going to pay more in taxes. Isn't that who should? If not people that have more, then who?

Oh my gosh, do you people hear yourselves. Socialisim, sucks period, no matter how the media paints the picture it is horrible. Ask the UK how universal health care works for them. THe quality goes down the drain and it may take months for care even for broken bones. A lot of treatment is denied to elderly so they live in a lot of pain for the last 5 years of their life. The rich people which is really upper middle class, already pay most of the taxes, raise it and they will hoard their money and will not start companies or invest it in the community and will create a two class America. Eliete and Poor. I am just above the poverty line and am struggling to make it. Taxing the wealthy more is a stupid idea and not the answer. Basic economics and the Republic for which this country is founded tells you that Soaking the wealthy is bad for the country and our freedom. The schools are brain washing our children to accept socialism and eventually communism it is all about total government control just like China. PLEASE WAKE UP AMERICA. WE are heading to HELL on a JET Plane if we don't pay attention. Read the old text books on History and economics. Our School teachers are fooling our children. Demand that OUR government CUT SPENDING and NOT TAX US TO DEATH. Why penalize people who worked smart and hard to make their lives successful. What incentive do I have to better myself if I am going to go to the higher tax bracket and give the GOvernmnet over 40% of my money? Wake UP America, it should be common sense

Government run health care is never a good idea. Just ask all the Canadians who come across the border to get treated.
In every country that has universal health care, the standard of care has gone down, and you have to wait in line, sometimes for months. The government cuts the cost they will pay for care, which gets fewer people becoming Doctors. Fewer Doctors, fewer people being treated.
We have the highest standard of medical care in the world, don't let the government screw it up.
Americans need to get off the idea that the government should provide everything for us.

Plan is to take away Bush's tax cuts on households earning $200,000+ and use this to pay for some universal health coverage. Of course, I don't know how much coverage this would come out to, but it is a good start. We are supposed to have a progressive, democratic government with equal opportunity to all citizens, and I love Lou Dobb's book War On The Middle Class.

Yes I do. The middle class have been supporting the rich in tax breaks for the rich forever. At the same time the working poor are not able to get ahead. Many cannot afford the insurance premiums and copays their insurance requires, while insurance companies get to pay less on claims, thereby gaining more in profits. So what's the problem?

Sort of. As long as we can cut off the Worst Generation Ever (Baby Boomers) from all entitlements I would be for it.
Vote Baby Boomers out of office and strip them of all entitlements.
