I am tall, and I love it, yet I know 3 short girls who would love to be tall...and when you have a conversation about it with them they admit they actually dont like being short...but in public they say they love it....???

Who wants to be a whiner? Maybe that's why in public they say they love being short. What difference does it make? I think you are generalizing when you say "all" tall women brush it off. I've seen tall, beautiful women slump so they won't be seen as tall.

I'm very short (petite would have been a nicer term btw!) and I think it's because others always try and pick on or push around short people i.e. they think short people are an easy target. So short people are always on the defensive anyway, so I wouldn't take too much notice if I were you! For the record though, I absolutely genuinely adore being short and blokes seem to like it too. My mum (also very short!) has always said to me that the best perfume comes in the smallest bottles.....and so does poison! Take from that what you will!

The only thing that sucks about being short is that I have to ask tall people to get things for me cause I can't reach them. Maybe it's because they don't like having to rely on other people, or people to think that they are less capable. I, on the other hand, will climb up on my kitchen counter is need be.

I don't know why they would want to be tall, most guys like a woman who is short - low to mid 5 foot, but not like 4 foot or something.
P.S. I concur with Miss Kiss above, short petite women get a lot of male attention in my experience.

That's strange, I thought it was more taller women that had issues with their height.
I don't mind being short, I can't change my height so there is no point worrying about it. And it's the same if you are tall.

becuase they feel that their height and appearance is important to them as well as other people around so when they hear a comment like hey shorty or short stuff how you doing it will offend them because they believe that people are making fun of them and they don't realize that people are not always making fun of but giving them a compliment on their looks...i hope this makes as much sense to you as it does to me...
