no goals scored during the shootout will be added to any players stats, same goes for goalies if the goalies stopped all 3 shoots its not added to his stats. anything that happens in the shootout doesn't reflect on your stats.
if he would of scored in overtime well anything that happens in overtime will be added to a players stats same for the goalies.
AND TO THE PEOPLE THAT KEEP SAYING IT GOES TO THE PLAYERS STATS AS A GWG WELL IT DOESN'T EFFECT ANY STATS WHATS SO EVER.
GO HABS GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

your terminology is a bit confusing. There are two types of penalty kicks: A penalty kick for a foul and a "Penalty Kick Shootout" If time is extended to allow the taking of a penalty kick (for a foul), then yes, it counts. The Italy game is a perfect example of that. They only had 3 minutes of stoppage time added to the game, but Totti didn't score until the 95th minute. Time was extended simply to allow him to take that kick. That kind of thing does count toward the score of the game. With a penalty kick shootout, the official score is recorded as a tie and a note is made as to who won the shootout. The Ukraine win is the example there. That kind of thing does not count in the score. Oh, and it's not likely that a single player will even get to take 3 penalty kicks in a shootout. The team must go through all of the players who were on the field at the end of the match before they can start over.

Shootout goals do not count as goals. So no he will not get the 3rd goal. Very few people are aware of this and all the time you see fans throw hats on the ice even though technically the stat sheet will only show 2 goals.
The funnier thing is that a player can have no goals on the night but if his "goal" is the winning goal of the shootout he is awarded the GWG even though his line will say 0 goals.

No, individual stats during the shootout do not count. So tonight, Briere did not get credit for a hat trick, only the two goals during regulation.

NO the shoot out goal does not count for the hat trick. I not even sure it counts in the actual scoring stats. I believe the shootout goal only counts as a win for the team.

Nope the "goals" in the shootout are meaningless. They just decide who wins in the shootout.

No points count for the goal scorers and goals against count against the goalie.
