You should read Pat Califia's erotic story "The Spoiler" (in the book "Macho Sluts")- it completely details what you're talking about.
Anyhow, I'd assume, like in any relationship where one partner wants one thing and the other doesn't, they compromise. It's the only way to make things work. How they choose to do that- whether by having polyamorous relations and getting certain sex acts from other bottoms, or by voluntarily taking on the bottom role with one another, or simply not playing such games in their sex, or topping other bottom(s) together in order to get their kicks-depends on the guys. That's what I'd imagine, at least.

You learn to compromise and both learn to take a more submissive role sometimes during sex or vice versa in the other situation. If you really love the person you won't mind doing something that you know will make your partner happy.
Most often times when two "tops" or "bottoms" get into a relationship it's normally an "open relationship" and they invite others in the bedroom every so often.

I'm a lesbian, but I think I can provide some imput.
I'm a butch and I like other butches. I like the further equality this tends to imbue a relationship with - pushing further away from our society's "traditional" gender roles. I mean, no one "plays the man" and no one "plays the woman" as my old catholic school teachers would say.
If your idenitity is centered around a specific role in sex or in a specific sexual act, there are ways around that too. I'm into S&M. My primary lover isn't. I get around this by engaging in this kind of activity with other lovers.
If you really love someone, you compromise and you find ways to make it work.

Well, with extremist bottoms, there's usually oral but that usually doesn't happen. Someone will end up being more masculine than the other and I can't imagine two ultra-masculine guys being able to both act as they want in a relationship, nor could I imagine so from two ultra-fem guys in a relationship. I'm very flaming and I tend to only like masculine guys.

you two are NOT going to have much sex, are you...unless it is oral..or unless one of you can learn to love the lower berth (I cannot see why one or other could not). Otherwise, it is going to be an endless train of 3 ways with a bottom, isn't it? And that is not a bad idea either.

Either you're gonna figure out who the greater dom is or both will have to compromise.
