i HAVE SEEN SO MANY IN STORES WITH CHOICE CUTS OF BEEF AND OTHER HIGH DOLLAR ITEMS IN SHOPPING CART PAY FOR ITEMS WITH FOOD CARDS OR STAMPS, THEN HAVE IT LOADED INTO NEW VEHICLE SUCH AS CADILLACS, S.U.V.s. Dont give me the line that they have a right to eat fine foods and drive new vehicles as well as anyone. This is not what it is about. Where does the money come from for the vehicle?

Yes they should. See here is how I look at it, to get my job I had to be fingerprinted and drug tested. My job, my work, my taxes pay for this welfare. If I have to be drug tested to go to work to pay for it, they certainly should be drug tested to receive it. It is only fair.

I agree with you that I am appalled and disgusted at the abuse of government assistance programs in America. I think most should be severly restricted, if not done away with.
But, I really don't think drug testing welfare recipients is the answer. That would seem like just more wastefulness of tax dollars.

I don't think that a food card necessarily means that the holder is on welfare. Don't those drawing unemployment qualify for a food card? I think seasonal workers also qualify for food cards. Could these people have been doing the shopping for a disabled person who qualifies for a food card? I don't know where the vehicle comes from and neither do you.

Assuming that you are telling the truth about having seen priceless cuts of meat being loaded into ginormous SUVs, what is the correlation with having the people getting welfare drug tested? What does drug use have to do with buying expensive meat? I could understand if you said you saw excessive amounts of munchie-type snax being purchased with food stamps by people with red eyes, but not the meat and the SUV.

You are right - they probably are dealing drugs. And yes, it would seem that the people who receive benefits should be drug tested. But you are looking at tons of money spent to police these people who already know how to fake a drug test.

I feel the same way! yes they should be tested. and I don't ever want to see any1 go hungry but yea there should be some limitations. some of them eat better than my family and we scrape by each wk.

Okay...I am with that...and mandatory sterilization after 2 children, too....and testing for alcohol and nicotine abuse. Oh, and they must continually look for work, with benefits greatly reduced each week they remain unemployed.
Now, I know many folks will think me extreme, but something needs to fly.

Because they cheat the govt, and nobody cares to try and prevent it. You would think that when they go to DFACS with all their kids in the hummers somebody would start asking questions, but no they just give them hand outs.
