There has to be at least a couple of them, and could someone tell whoever writes the X-men to make a Dog or cat with mutant powers. Now something like Wolverine finding a Dog who had mutant healing powers would be cool too or had some kind of telepath related power.

There was Proty, a sort of super amoeba, who had the power of shape shifting. He was the companion of Chameleon Boy of the Legion of Super Heroes. (I know, they were indirectly connected to Superboy, but it’s a distant connection, okay? )

Then there were other animal groups—not ‘funny animals’ (tho’ some were pretty silly) but serious animal super heroes. Rex the Wonder Dog and Detective Chimp come to mind.

Then there were the animal teams. Here’s where they got really ridiculous. I’ll just give you their rosters; the powers ware mostly self-explanatory.

Space Canine Patrol Agents (note the initials) : Krypto, Bull Dog, Chameleon Collie, Hot Dog, Mammoth Mutt, Paw Pooch, Tail Terrier, Tusky Husky. Each dog has a super power (aside from Krypto, who could beat them all together.)

Space Cat Patrol Agents (same idea): Atomic Tom, Tail Tabby, Power Puss. Both these groups apeared in Superboy #131. At least, they didn’t throw in Streaky (Supergirls’ pet cat.)

There have been animal parodies of super heroes: the ‘Mazing Man-Spider, Peter Porker, the Spectacular Spider-Ham. You get the idea.

How about the Teen Titans Changeling…? Yeah, I know, he’s supposed to be a human being that can change into animal forms. But how do YOU know he isn’t an animal that can change into other forms, including a human one…?

And, let us not forget everybody’s favorite: Captain Carrot and his Amazing Zoo Crew! There was also Courageous Cat, written by the same scriptwriter that did the Batman TV show.

Toonopedia lists quite a few of these funny animal super heroes. Enjoy!

I don't know why but the first animal that pops into my head, other than Lockheed and Krypto, is Battlecat.

He went from small tiger to massive battlecat when He-Man raised his sword and said "I have the Power!"
