What you think the chances are of (or what they would need to do in order for) the Republican Party regaining control of Congress in 2008. I'm doing this report thing for one of my classes. If anyone can find some sources that would be really, really great. It's kind of a topic that no one has written about yet. (gee, I wonder why, the election is only 640-some days away)

Zero, if they don't stop the war in Iraq!

The margins are razor thin, so it is really hard to tell.

Keep in mind though, a lot of those votes were made in 2006 to protest Bush, not becuase the voters did not like their own Senator/Representative, and Bush (Thank goodness) ain't running again.

I would say unless the Democrats get their act together and prove they can govern the chances are very good the Republicans will be back in control in 2008

It seems it's never too early to talk about an election, after all, the presidential hopefuls are already lined up! I think the republicans can take back congress because in 2 years the public will see that the democratic whiners that got elected will have done nothing while in office.

contained in the pastime of the country and our all destiny you'll very a lot desire so. regardless of the indisputable fact that, the present election consequences enable me doubt the expertise of the yankee voters. And one has also to do not forget that the Democratic get jointly has neither finished all proper nor produced many charismatic leaders on account that Clinton. i'm also disenchanted via the Democrats' generic silence (with the exception of a few decide on persons) in regard to the unlawful occupation of Iraq and the wars the Bush administration has began in 3 Asian states. in the journey that they decide on to regain administration, they could ought to speak up, be heard and provide an decision to the mess Bush has created.

It doesn't seem to matter. Both parties have deceived America for the most part.

Look at the billions dumped into election campaigns. It's enough money to end world hunger! I think people should be taught to investigate candidates (and their voting records) and they should all be given similar airtime and debate time to publicize their vision for America. Take the money out of it!!!

I think it should all be simplified and I would love to see the average person (like a school teacher or firefighter) have the a shot at being elected.

We need to go back to the days of servant leadership!

it's really sad, but "By the people, for the people" is near extinction.

There is a lot that can happen between now and the 2008 election. I'm sure democrats will **** up enough for the republicans to regain power. The republicans just need to re-claim their conservative values.

The Dems won not because they are so great but because the disgusting Bush regime is so bad. Not just incompetent and lying to the American people but also because so many Repubs are manifestly crooked and corrupt. My former congressman Cunningham is in prison right now for taking bribes.

Yet the Dems could easily blow it. They are disorganized and in many ways not much better than the Repubs. The recent election was not so much won by the Dems as it was lost by the Bush regime. If the Dems don't shape up the people could just as easily turn against them.

I think it will continue to be the Dems. The Republican congress never got anything done and at least the Democrats are trying. I personally think the whole system needs revamped but I don't see that happening.

vetoing isnt going to do it
comming clean might
essentially we are seeing thier deeds

they think controling one house is going to stop things falling out
well some judge what they are doing with what they have
2 of the three powers
and all they want to do is stop change ,
getting the other house they dream
they loose the two powers they have to have no power
its not as they even use wisly that they have been given
let alone daring to ask for more
we have seen what all the power does
i dont think the electorate will favour them getting all the power ever again ,those who cant be trusted in the little things cant be trusted ever to have all of it again.

Slim to none.
Given the war, health and insurance
issues still unresolved, the Dem's are
a sure bet to get the reins back in
2008.
Eight years is about the limit for either
party to bask in the sunshine of voter
acceptance.
