No, birds are still able to burp. Although hitting one with a really fast baseball will cause it to be torn apart: http://espn.go.com/mlb/news/2001/0325/1161522.html#.

It is an old urban myth that seagulls will explode if they eat an Alka Seltzer.

Even still, I don't recommend it.

They can't digest it, so when it starts to foam ,they go pop
