It's sad to say, but yes i'm a n00b at many games, especially ones like Gears of War's online mode, any tips? Websites or videos that give tips will work too.

Here are some tips that you should follow:

1. Practice. Playing something over and over will eventually heighten your skills.
2. Play the campaign. If your game has campaign (most do), keep playing it, and adjust the difficulty as you get better.
3. Keep moving. If you stay still when fighting, you'll be a sitting duck for other enemies. Just move around and jump to avoid hits.
4. Retreat when you need to. When you're really low on health, don't be afraid to be labled as a n00b or a coward. Just get yourself out as best as you can, or die trying. You may want to throw smoke or flashbang grenades to make a hasty escape.
5. Find out what suits you best. Do you feel more battle hungry with a sniper rifle or a rocket launcher? Experiment with different weapons and combinations to find out which one gives you more kills.
6. Strategy guides. Strategy guides often give an explanation of multiplayer maps. Memorizing the intricacies of the map is vital in any game.
7. Don't stay out in the open. If you do, then be sure you are in constant motion.
8. If playing PC games, make sure that you have a good computer to avoid such maladies like bad graphics or lag.
9. Know the items, maps, weapons, and abilities. They will be essential.
10. Don't be annoying. Constantly using the microphone or chatting will make others want to kill you, especially in Counter-Strike.
11. Go for the head. Headshots do the most damage. If you can't, aim for the torso.
12. Explosives. Often, grenades prove very useful in flushing out campers or eliminating pesky insurgents. A well-place mine can also be very useful
13. Look before you leap. Don't just barrage into a room and regret it later.
14. Camp if necessary, but don't make it a habit. Under heavy fire, you'll probably want to stay somewhere with a lot of cover.
15. Go in groups. If you stay in a group, you'll have other people covering your back.
16. Hit them in the back. When you can, hit them from behind to take them by surprise.

The easiest way to become a non-noob, anti-noob etc. is obviously practice. A quicker way, especially with Gears of War is to watch the other charators like Dom. Watch when he takes cover and then pops up to shoot. Watch how he chooses his targets. Gears AI(auto intelligence aka bots) aren't stupid like some other games. Dom is a good role model. He charges at the right times and takes cover at good times too. If you look at his game play you will lear.

Another game that you must own is Halo 2 and you must play live. Just do team training until you meet some people and make some friends. Then try to get into a clan. Once your in a clan you have all sorts of team members who will show you tricks like crouch jumping, grenade spots, spawn places and times and so on.

Hope this review was helpful.

Aim ,Move, and think are some of the key things to win most games. Aim for head and neck only, other parts will get you lousy health damage. If aiming for the head is too hard for you then aim for the high torso( the part that attaches the legs, arms, and neck, has the breasts and belly button). Move...Move...Move. Don't move in circles because it can get very confusing and tired, try moving in zig-zag motions and duck, jump and dive as much as possible. If you do that too much though, you will not be able to aim and that breaks one of the "3 laws". Try to stick around teammates. Let some of your teammates in front and some in back or in other words be in the middle! If the enemy attacks from behind then they get hit first and if they get hit from in front then your teammates will act like a shield against enemy fire! Also if you need to retreat than God Damn retreat, soldier! Don't be a loser and stick around while you busy die! If you see a big dude with 999 rockets then hide, reload, get your best weapon and FIRE!! Adjust to what gun you like the best. If you like the rocket launcher than pick that one, if you love the machine gun then go for that one. Lastly is think. You have to think about where you have to go and try to get the most cover possible, if you think you are going behind a wall too often then you are doing it very well! Reflexes are important under the think category. Fire at an enemy as quick as you can and level your crosshair( the tiny little dot or shape you aim with) at head level so the minute an enemy appears you will at least get 1 head shot to him. This step is very important too, shoot at anything you see. Of it is a team player then stills shoot as if he is an enemy but stop once you realize he is on your team. As a old, wise man once said" better safe than sorry". Also try reloading undercover or in shelter so if an enemy is coming or shooting at you, you are protected. If you seriously don't have enough time then switch to a diffrent gun or even a knife. All you want to do is to kill him so you will get a chance to reload and be ready to fight! Those are some steps in order to ace Gears of War or any other shooting game. IF you follow them you will no longer be a noob, you be an expert or cool guy like ME!!!!!! I havent played Gears before but ill tell you a key factor in the shooter games i play is reloading time.....
always reload when able but not when a person is likely to be coming.....even if it means using grenades/melee to kill them. Cause usually youre hopeless while reloading.
Really practice is the only way to get there but just thought id give a bit of my advice ;)
good luck

One key move that will help alot is being able to keep your target lined up while moving around it 360*. Its like running a circle around someone while you keep shooting. I suck at games on a console system. I wish Xbox and the like would have a keyboad and mouse attached...I would rock then!
