Legally you have to get out now, however you won't be forced to move until the court orders your eviction.

However, you are still liable for all rent and damages incurred during your control of the property.

You have an obligation to abide by your contract, whether verbal or written.

The landlord can file for a forcible detainer, which is a court ordered eviction, and sue you for all damages, including legal costs and collection fees.

The landlord can then turn the judgment over to a collection agency, which will ruin your credit rating. The next time you try to rent, the new landlord will check your credit rating to see if there is a judgment against you for back rent. When he sees this, he won't rent to you.

Tell the landlord you can't move because you don't have any money. Tell him you will be out this weekend if you can get your deposit back so you can get another place. He may pay you to get out as that can be cheaper than suing a dead beat.
