Instead of asking why is reading so boring to me, ask yourself what you might enjoy reading. In other words, focus on the positive, rather than the negative. If you like comic books, then try graphic novels, which are similar to comic books. Since you liked "Time Machine", perhaps you would like other science fiction novels. Is your reading assignment, based on the teacher's choice or can you choose a book? If it's the teacher's choice, perhaps you can get help with the book you are reading on the Internet - there are websites that help explain the book's characters, plot, themes, everything you need to know. On the other hand, if you can choose your own book, then you have the power to pick a book that you will really enjoy. Good luck!

basically your question has no answer without a cultural reference. no offense but you see in an african culture whose superior tools and weapons were formed from a jet black stone. then a warriors heart of courage and inspired fury might be represented by a black heart. in Taoist terms black is the feminine void the unseeded womb, so there it might be the heart of creation's eternal creative forces. if you want to poll only christians or a primitive culture where black heart would mean rot or waste or unnatural death. of course the english based black heart was probably first applied to corruption but later murderous villians such as pirates, and once civilization began to record them serial killers so yes , no , and possibly meaningless.
