Why do liberals say they are for freedom of speech and democracy?

then use violence to stop conservatives from speaking? It constantly happens in public forums and universities in the US. Is there a class at Columbia that teaches liberals how to use violence to suppress alternative views?

While there have been a few isolated incidents of liberals shouting down their opponents, the instances of right-wingers stomping on free speech are much more common.

It was Bush, not Clinton or a liberal, who decided to spy on Americans without court orders. It was a spokesman for the Bush Pentagon who suggested there was something wrong with lawyers representing detainees in Guantanamo. Need I go on?

Yes, a California college just extended an invitation
for a conservative speaker, and then the liberal students
would not let him speak and yelled out comments and
shut him down. This is such rudeness and against their
own "freedom of speech" ideology. Hypocracy at it's
worse. Read about this event on Fox News. com. if
you want statistics. It was real.

I think you know nothing of which you speak. Liberals do not use violence, conservatives use appeals to Christian values and bad policies that favor big businesses so they can make money like greedy, blood sucking vampires.

It's propaganda. The idea of losing one's independence is naturally unpalatable to most people, so they cover it up with flowery words. Unfortunately, I've seen conservatives doing the exact same thing over the last few decades. Along the lines of the "tolerance" cartload of crap... They'll only tolerate you so long as you agree unconditionally to their views; anyone who strays is a traitor. And people accuse President Bush of this.

The future isn't hard to predict.

It seems to me it was right wingers calling for the punishment and/or arrest of liberals who spoke out against the war or challenged Bush....

Of course I dont mind violence being used on some radical concervative groups, like that right wing GodHatesfags group, that pickets funerals of dead US soldiers, claiming they died because God was angry at America for allowing homosexuality.
Those freaks deserve to have the crap beaten out of them...

Basically, it is the right wing concervatives, not the left wing liberals that fears dissent.
Liberals are the ones who favor freedom- Liberals are the ones that fought for civil rights, womens rights, union rights- Concervatives opposed such rights from day one.
Concervatives are the ones who seek to supress freedom....If you dont believe me, read the Patriot Act someday....
