Calling someone intelligent is a very broad statement. It is assuming much unknown.
Intelligenc is measured in problem solving ability in several different fields. If you are lacking in one, your intelligence level suffers.
I would say educated means you had access to learning and took advantage of it, where intelligence means you are capable of solving problems to a certain degree in all subjects.
What if I can design software but I don't know which way to turn a screwdriver to tighten a screw? Or have a Degree in nutrition but fail to apply it in my own life knowing full well it is more healthy to eat right?
Intelligence in one view is applying what you know to life and in another view being able to solve problems in all aspects of life.
Being educated is retaining knowledge.
