I filed my own divorce and received notice today that I did not include a deposition and need to. We both agreed to everything, no children involved.

Your lawyer should be advising you about this because I am sure you're paying out the @$$. A deposition is either a taped or transcripted interview under oath regarding the facts of a case and a person's involvement and perspective on the case. You can't just do it yourself - you have to be questioned by an attorney in a deposition. That's why I say your lawyer should be advising you.

A deposition is evidence given under oath and recorded for use in court. Even an amicable divorce still requires grounds for divorce to have a judgment of dissolution rendered.

The deposition is basically what you will testify to in court (your grounds) only in writing so as not to surprise opposing counsel.
