Anyone else think that the My Chemical Romance and The Used cover is a piece of trash, and ruins the legacy of the original by Bowie and Queen?

I don't think anyone should be covering Bowie and Queen. They're two of my favorite performers and "Under Pressure" is one of the best songs either of them have done. I'm sorry but some songs should just never be touched by anyone ever. These young artists get so cock sure and full of themselves, they think 15 minutes of popularity justifies them ripping off legends.

I am not a fan of either, but The Used and My Chemical Romance were not trying to live up to David Bowie and Queen's standards. They just remade an amazing song and tried to spread the message to all of their fans, which is not a bad thing at all. MCR and The Used's cover is a more modern version, so if you liked David Bowie's and Queen's better, great. That's your time. But many kids today haven't heard the original version and their tastes haven't developed that much yet. Songs can change a life, and one amazing song like this going unheard, even if it is a cover, is just a shame.

I've never been a particularly big fan of the song but I hate to see any original song butchered. It does ruin the legacy created by the composer, who actually made the effort to write the song in the first place.
Incidentally, the first major steal of this song was by Vanilla Ice (1990s Ice Ice Baby), which blatantly lifted John Deacon's bassline.

I agree with you 100%! The Used and MCR are just wannabes that could only dream they could be as amazing as Queen and David Bowie. But then again, what do you expect? Most covers are never as good as the originals.

It wasn't THAT bad. I actually like the live version they did of it. And honestly, how can you possibly measure up to Bowie and Queen?

Queen will always be better. The Used and Mcr can't make their song any better. And it does ruin it

Haven't heard of either versions but I don't think you can ruin such a perfect song, no matter who comes out with shitty ones.
