Elizabeth Town - It showed me my relationship with my father and actually helped me get closer to him before it was too late.

Kingdom of Heaven - I was having dificulty with my religion and seeing this movie helped me put things into perspective.

Harry Potter - Made me realize that I wanted to become a writer, hence I wrote my first novel and am now working on my second one.

Any Paulo Coehlo book will have an impact on the way I see life.
The one that had the biggest impact was The Zahir. Its about a couple who have been together for more than 10 years and the wife suddenly disappears. The husband then decides to go and look for her. It is a search for the meaning of love, what you would do for love and how much you need to relate and communicate with the one you love.

For me it was the film 'Beyond Borders' with Angelina Jolie in it. She herself ended up becoming a goodwill ambassaor for the U.N. after her experiences making this film.
It opened my eyes to how inwardly focussed I was living my life - I was taking for granted that I live in a country where I can turn on a tap and get clean water, I can go to my closet and get clothes when I'm cold - I can go to the fridge and get something to eat when I'm hungry - A LOT of the worlds population do not have that luxury.
It spurred me to donate more often to charity - it may not be much but I hope it can make a small difference to someone in need somewhere in the world!! :-)

As far as books go, I have to put down the Da Vinci Code. It was something I had found odd even as a child, and the book really put it all into perspective for me. It made me go and do the research on my own and come up with my own conclusion. Another book is The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka, definately read that one.

Not really, but the closest I can think of is Pretty Woman because it shows that everyday people can find extraordinary love. It's my favorite movie!
How about a song? Heart of Glass by Blondie for me. Not because of the song but because the first time I heard it I changed. Something about the words and the tune made me see things differently. I listen to it every time I need to escape the world and just relax for a few minutes.

Yes, Donnie Darko. I didn't literally change my life, but it changed the way I look at a lot of things. Hard to explain...watch that movie if you haven't. Best of all time in my book, hands down.

Thr3e by Ted DekKer really made rethinkn how i was living life, and looking at myself. It sounds like a deep, thick book you can't wrap your head around, but really its amazing and you rip through the pages like nothing. I highly suggest that you check it out.
