I occasionally have a sulfur smell on my water as well. I've been told it is not a health hazard and the water remains safe to drink. Still doesn't eliminate the nuisance factor though...

The best solution I've heard so far is to filter with activated carbon. I'm looking for a large canister type filter which should last several months.

Usually sulfurous well water is deodorized by spraying it from the wellhead into a large holding tank with free circulation of outside air. Additional filtering and ion-exchange softening may be done after the aeration phase to remove fine suspended particles and soften the water.
