What makes American bands specifically American. What about the band makes it seem "American", besides the fact that they may be from America or live here, or are even citizens. More specifically, why does Evanescence portray American styles?

when i think american music i think all american rejects, fall out boy, panic at the disco, relient k, sugarcult, black eyed peas and justin timberlake.

what makes american music american is that its very commercialized and used in all kinds of advertisements. american music is taken advantage of by the media and the theme of "(band name) does this, you should too!" comes up a lot. american music is also very very generic and unoriginal.

yes they have made a huge impact on our world. just look at how people walk and talk and what clothes they wear.

yet im hooked too.

That's a good question and to honest i have no clue. I would assume cause they are from America. There is a big difference in American band and European bands so I guess it the way the music comes out. The type of instruments used and so forth. Most American band use a lot of horns and use the bass and drums for most sound. You know what I mean. American bands are great for acoustic or piano based but it does not compare to the "non-American" bands. I listen to selected rock/heavy metal/punk music so my opinion may not be to reliable LOLOL. Great question though.
