Diabetes, I would guess. Stan was diagnosed with the illness in the early 1940s. This illness later was a contributing factor to a stroke (1955). Utopia was filmed in 1950.

If you'd used Google or any other search engine, you would have found out in about 2 minutes (as I did) that he was a diabetic. You could've saved yourself five points, too.

heart attack is what says killed him according to wikipedia but check on there and there might be more information.
