boggling ourselves in a petty war..like DEMOCRACY which hasn't happened yet in the US is going to suddenly bloom in Iraq....(remember we are a representative government..(not Jefferson's representative government but never a true democracy) Jefferson put 1/30,000 citizens in the constitution, we are currently 1 per 750,000 without a single seat added in the last 100 years despite the fact we've tripled our population, don't cha know/????

Somehow it's just all adding up tonight...we're a sorry mess

the president that ends this thing will be a national hero. I think we are totally psychotic, and now we are going to lose some well paid CIA operatives because of the German Rendition thing. We need to guard the country itself rather than stirring up stuff in other countries. AND the whole I can airstrike any country anytime I think there may be al-queda operatives there is going to run very thin soon. Take heed you cant just order up an airstrike when you feel like it. It actually is important to every american with a job to have good international relations you can talk to the folks at Ford motor company if you think you can go without a strong global market..

Thanks for your time.

You should know that when you are talking individuals that it's very different from what you feel after zoning out on the 24 hr news channel. Sadly down on the street there are a whole bunch of people who really lack conscience. Can't see past themselves. Downright unlikeable sorts. There are a bunch of nice people too.

Get out there among them for friendship and for being a good example.

Where our representatives are concerned, get writing and don't stop.

Changing your life will help you sleep better at night. I mean YOU change. Stop supporting things that are bad! Read into everything you do and buy.

I think you can tell the state of the nation just be sampling the contents of shopping carts. Check it out.

I know exactly how you feel and what you are talking about. There is a lot of arrogance that comes with being the world most powerful and successfull country. It hurts me to see so many people suffering still and yet theres all those rich people in the states with their gas hogs and million dollar mansions that required 200 trees to be chopped down.

BUT

On the bright side, America has given billions of dollars worth of foriegn and domestic aid. The Red Cross, the Salvation Army, Americorps, just to name a few. You should see the kind of support/aid the Mormon Church gives alone!

America is making a lot of amazing things possible. But it is also causing a lot of problems to itself and the whole world as a biproduct of success and mismanagement.

Some Canadians think we've lost our minds, Some don't. America is the envy of most of the world. The few exceptions are Canada and Europe. Who also have a high standard of living, but are much smaller targets than we are. Wake up and smell the roses, don't just lay there and sniff the left wing sh_t.

You don't even know what you're talking about. Congressional seats are population based and the numbers change based on district lines. This is why redistricting is such a hot political topic and always comes with charges of gerrymandering. How do you figure 1/750,000? Every citizen who has not been convicted of a felony, whether they choose to exercise that right or not. I hope you're not referencing non-citizens!

This is incoherent. How can anyone rationally bekieve that we think we are the only 1's who matter & then admit that we are fighting to make people 1/2 way around the world free. Both statements can not possibly be true.

Guess what, Americans do care about others, but we should be our own #1 priority. Do you think Canadians, Australians, Mexicans, or anybody else sits there and thinks hmmmm how can we make life better for Americans? Um no, so why should we think how to make their lives better? If you agree with the Canadians, then go live with the Canadians, trust me, we won't miss you.

Ok since you added that in there, I understand what you are saying, everyone wants fair representation but what does that have to do with us thinking we are the only ones that matter?

The only sorry mess that I can see is that ridiculous attempt by you to write a clear, concise, and intelligent message to those with who you wish to communicate.

Now, sit down, take a deep breath and slowly blow it out. Think this time about what you wish to say and how you plan on saying it. Once you have it down, start again!

You know . . . . there are a lot of wonderful things that Americans do on a daily basis, but if you insist on focusing on the negative, then go right ahead. The rest of us will continue to give credit to those who step up and do things worth commending.

By the way, the fact that you can sit here on Answers and b*tch is evidence that life is good.

It may be national pride you are describing - something each nation has.

As for your beliefs - you can freely express them due to the US Constitution, a small piece of paper that many throughout the world wish they had. Thanks to that you have boundless freedom which includes free speech. Something that many throughout the world do not.

While we may seem a "sorry mess" to you - it appears to be the best thing out there at the moment.
