Brown is a color that green anoles turn when they're stressed. He may just be upset with having to "share" his territory with a newcomer at this point, but sooner or later, there will be trouble.

Firebellied toads do secrete a toxin from glands behind their eyes. The bright coloration is a warning for other animals not to eat them! The toad on the other hand is a predator. It won't distinguish your anoles feet from crickets. Sometime your anole is going to be missing a few toes (or more).

In general, it's never a good idea to mix species: http://www.caudata.org/cc/articles/Mixing_disasters.shtml

Do you have them in a cage or a terrarium? How big is it? It's difficult to answer your question without more information. I have three anoles living in 20 gallon terrerium. I have found that it is hard to keep anoles comfortable (green) all day. It could be feeding, housing, humidity and many other factors. Anoles are arboreal so the best thing you can do is get them a plant like a ficus or a branch that they can crawl on. I don't see why a toad wouldn't be a good neigbor especially if the toad is terrestrial. Good luck.

the oils from the frog might be making that other thing sick or not feel to well. just a suggestion..... though u could separate them for a while and see what happens. if they have been together for a long time .the forsure separate them cause the sick one could make the other 1 sick too.
