The minor league is a professional baseball system used mainly to develop young talent to help produce major league ballplayers for the major league teams that are affiliated with the minor league teams (usually controlled under private ownership). Also known as the "farm system" the minor league is broken down by three classes: A, AA, and AAA (the highest level). Players who finding success in AAA prove that they are groomed to take the next step which would be playing at the major league level. Major league teams consist of the best professional baseball players in the world and the game is played at a much faster pace due to the more skillful, upper-level talent. After having proved themselves at the major league level players have opportunities to sign contracts for large sums of money based on their talent as ballplayers or based on a team's needs.

Minor league teams and major league teams have many differences. One example is that major league is professional ball and minor league is not really too pro. Another is that there is a countable amount of major league baseball teams, around 30 if I am correct. There are way too many minor league teams to remember. Every minor league team has a major league team that owns it. The team that owns it can alternately switch players from teams that they own so that players that need rest and are not performing as well can be brought down to a minor league level and excellent superstars on a minor league team can be called up.

Furthermore, there are three levels of minor league baseball (A, AA, and AAA) but there is only one level of major league baseball. Also, another difference is that Major League Baseball's initials are MLB, and Minor League Baseball's initials are MILB. MLB has its official website at http://www.mlb.com/ and MILB has its official website at http://www.milb.com/. Hope my answer helps you understand the differences between Minor League Baseball and Major League Baseball better.

The salaries the players are paid. Also the minor leagues are used by the majors to find the best talent (usually) for the major league teams. Smaller cities usually end up with minor league teams (Go West Tenn. Diamond Jaxx!)

the minor leagues exist as feeder teams for major league clubs. Branch Rickey, the man who ran the brooklyn dodgers and signed jackie robinson, was the brains behind minor league farm systems. major league teams draft about 50 players each year and those player begin at various levels of the farm system (the levels are rookie, A, AA, and AAA, rookie the worst and AAA the best level) and play and learn and advance up the farm system until the are ready, and good enough to make the major league team

When you want to play pro baseball you usually dont go straight to the major league. you have to go through a series of "farm teams" and then you can get into the minors. you get payed pretty well there but you have to be realy good to make it to the major leagues. so in a nutshell the minor league gets less publicity because the players arent as good.
