when i was little i believed that seatbelts served the purpose of keeping police men to take us out of our cars and send us to jail, as if a policeman did not know how to unbuckle a seat belt.

Also i was envious of the crunching sounds made when someone would eat chips or something. It never sounded the same when i ate chips.. lol

When I was little I was told by a friend that the way to have twins was to have sex real fast, stop for two minutes and do it again. Weird huh!

The chips thing made me chuckle. I once asked a police officer if it was true that all they do is talk with each other and eat donuts, then when I was a little kid some worker at BK or McDonald's offered me anything for free, a free burger or anything. Ya know what I chose? The toy. Also, every time I drank water I always forced myself to make a gulping noise (still do though).

This is going to sound so dumb of me but I thought the human body was only the torso. Also the world could fit in my backyard. I knew atlas' were just a drawing and the earth was bigger than the drawing, but I thought that all the land would fit back there. I thought that I could go to any country that I wanted then.

I believed that your body filled up with the food you ate and that made you tall. Taller people ate more food so their bodies had to stretch farther.
Also if you spoke a language other than English then you HAD to know english as well or you wouldn't understand yourself when you spoke.
I used to believe that grownups were always right.
I used to believe that if you were a good person then nothing bad would happen to you.

Interesting question! I probably could think of a zillion answers but I remember believing that if the drain in the bathtub/shower wasn't plugged up I'd be sucked in down the drain!

I thought you couldn't drink and drive meaning you couldnt drink ANYTHING. Whenever my dad was driving and had a soda with him he kept it between his legs, being like 5 I thought he was doing it to hide it! Now I know he was just using his legs as a cup holder and drinking soda is perfectly fine!
I also thought that in order to go from state to state you needed a passport. I grew up in Europe where it was like that so when I came to the US at 10 I didn't know any different.

I thought football players were born with their helmets. I thought their helmets were part of their heads.

I was a kid in the 1970's and confused the Middle East with the Mid West. When they showed unrest in the Middle East, I always wondered how close it was to my home.

When I was eight we Lived in Florida and there was a marsh behind our house. I always heard there were marsh rabbits all around there. But there was this huge tree and right undereath it was this huge hole, I believed that a rabbit lived in there and that if I went inside it , it would be the same as Alice going down that rabbit hole. I believed it and so did my friends that lived around there.
