Focus on your studies, and do plenty of extra-curricular activities, including community service and the like. High school doesn't matter so much, except that you'll want to get into a top University. At the University you'll want to study, Political Science, History, Philosophy, or the like, work hard to get good grades, while continuing to be involved in extra-curriculars. After that there are some paths you can take, law school probably being the best path. Become a lawyer and make a name for yourself, build a base.

Get a law degree & take acting classes, lots of them. And, learn to lie cheat and beg for money for your campaignsand make sure you get lots of support from energy corporations who are running and owning this country these days. And then learn to cheat the law by using your law degree. It's not what politicians do that is illegal that is scarry, it is what they can get away with legally that is scarry. This IS a serious answer. This is what it takes to be a serious politician today.
