I have before and met some cool people. A dating site is a great place to meet someone because they will tell you things about themself on there that you may not find out for months by meeting them elsewhere. So if the profile checks out, then you move to e-mailing that person. Then you move from e-mailing them to a phone call. If you don't like that person on the phone then there's no sense in meeting them in person.
If you decide that you like them on the phone, then you can go and meet the person face to face. ALWAYS meet them in a public place!!! If you are a female, by all means bring someone with you...if the guy that you're meeting is reasonable, he will understand why you brought your brother along.
Also, be sure to lie to him about what kind of car you're driving and what clothes you're wearing. That way, if you see him and don't like him (or her), you can drive or walk right by and they will never know that you thought that they were ugly. Then of course apologize later for not showing up and then never talk to the person again!!! It works like a charm.

Yes I do. It's not different than meeting a person in a bar, grocery store or wherever. Talk to people, get to know them before deciding to meet. Then meet in a public place first and see what happens. If you use good judgment and common sense, it can be fun. But just like in any situation, you have to use caution.

I actually met my fiance online, we lived in two different states and he would come to visit every other weekend. Now we live together in Las Vegas and could not be happier. It was hard at first to trust him because of all things you hear about the wierdos online, but to do something like dating online you have to be extremely open but very very cautious.

Online dating has become really popular and I think you can find a lot of quality people who are looking for the same kind of relationship you are.
I have a lot of friends who have met their perfect match online-
I met my boyfriend online and we've been happy and in love for almost 4 years now!!
Give it a try!!

Not anymore. I met a guy online, had a long distance relationship for a long time. I hooked him like a fish, reeled him in, and married him. Been married for years now. Getting ready to throw him back in. (Just a joke, you can't have him.)

I've never met anyone online worth dating, but I'd be sceptical about meeting them.

of course you should be distrustful because they are trying to impress you and sometimes lying is the only way they can get you to believe they are as good as you would like.
