I am almost 5 weeks pregnant...I have been having cramps. They are in my lower abdomin, just about in the center of the abnomin, a little to the right. i get a few a day, the come and go real quick, and aren't any worse than when i had my period. Could this possibly be an ectopic pregnancy or am i just being paranoid??

These types of cramps can be normal in a pregnancy. There are numerous reasons including hormone changes, cysts, uterus stretching, sex, full bladder, etc... However, you do not want to ignore the signs of a possible ectopic pregnancy. Generally you'll have pain on one side or the other and may feel lightheaded too. Your doctor will want to check your hcg levels. If your hcg levels are rising abnormally (i.e. taking seven or more days to double), you may be at risk for ectopic.

See your doctor though. This may be very normal and he or she can put your mind at ease.

I have had 2 ectopic pregnancies and could say that my second one was not expected as the doctor told me that he did see a sac in my uterus. Later found out that a pseudo sac (fake sac) sometimes form with an ectopic, totally didnt expect that or know. Good thing I had a feeling something was not right (usually right) and got a second opinion and caught it early enough to get the shot. My advise would be if you feel something is not right go to the doctor immediatly. You might think its all in your head but nothing is better than to be at ease. If you wait to long you could damage your tube. Hope this helps.

Pain is usually the first red flag. You might feel pain in your pelvis, abdomen, or, in extreme cases, even your shoulder or neck (if blood from a ruptured ectopic pregnancy builds up and irritates certain nerves). Most women describe the pain as sharp and stabbing. It may concentrate on one side of the pelvis, and it may come and go or vary in intensity.

Any of the following additional symptoms can suggest an ectopic pregnancy:

vaginal spotting or bleeding
dizziness or fainting (caused by blood loss)
low blood pressure (also caused by blood loss)
lower back pain

You definitely need to get to your doctor as soon as possible. No joking. It can be very serious, even fatal to you. I'm not trying to scare you but it's true.

Listen.... get it checked. I had an ectopic pregnancy in November. I had pains that felt like period cramps on my right side. Nothing real painful. By the time I decided to make sure that I wasnt miscarrying and went to the doctor my tube had already burst. I wasnt even spotting. Dont mess up like I almost did. Go get it checked out. I hope its nothing.

You will never know until you get an ultrasound and bloodwork. You should contact your doctor and make an appt. If you start bleeding (heavy or not) or if you have sharp shooting pains call your doctor and go in immediatly.
I've had two ectopic pregnancies and it is not something you want to mess around with.

See a gynae pronto and not some quack. You may have problems and only a full examination would allay your fears and to confirm you are pregnant. Don't frighten yourself. That's worse than knowing the facts.

Could be, could also just be a cyst which is really normal in pregnancy. If you're concerned enough to ask, you should call your dr and just have him or her check you out.
