1. Ether-linked lipids are more heat resistant than ester-linked lipids. This allows archea to survive in extremely hot environments.

2. A flower with both male and female reproductive organs.

3. AUG is the start codon in eucaryotes.

4. Rhyniophytes had a columella, a small column of tissue, running up through the center of the "stem", as do modern sporophytes.

5. Flowers, endosperm (nutrative tissue in seed) and a closed carpel enclosing the ovum.

3. AUG is the start codon. In prokaryotes, it codes for formyl methionine in the start position and methionine after the start codon. In eukaryotes, it only codes for methionine.
