Nothing excuses disrespectful behavior, harrassment, or violence. Nobody is 'asking for it'. That's why.

Morally I know it is wrong to hurt someone because you do not particularly like thier personality. This we have covered. However, i understand what you mean. If this is an unstoppable occurance (because no matter what you say, violence will never go away) why continue to face the risk of harm time and time again? (let me spell this out for the idiots who act like they've never seen a gay male or female before. dressing outlandishly for thier gender, walking irregularly for thier gender, speaking in an unnatural high or low pitch, and very loud, behavior overall which blatantly veers toward their sexual preferance) They do this because whatever makes them gay becomes their fiber. Whatever is natural for you is natural for them. And although they know the risks awaiting because of this, they still have to remain true to themselves. If not, they would end up spending the rest of thier lives in misery confined to the shackles of something which they do not believe. It's a matter of heart over heartlessness. They remain true, regardless of violence and adversity. Although you may not agree with the reason behind the behavior you have to admit that it takes a lot of courage to do what feels right.

Well Sean, it's this way. You see some people, like you see nothing wrong with beating people up for the way they look or act. That's why we have laws to deal with that kind of criminal behavior.

Nobody deserves being beaten for being "flamboyant".

Since when does "flamboyance" or just being different justify violence?

Let me turn this around on you--why do so many well-off white men go out flaunting their wealth with expensive suits and cell phones, and then get mad when they get mugged?

you beat up a lot of gay people? not ALL gay people are "flamboyant" as you say....nice generalizing stereotype there. but if you're one of those jerks who beat up and harass people just for being gay, then you need help or need to be in jail. there's no excuse for harassing or beating up anyone, no matter who they are.

Uhh because it's our personalities and who we are, and we're being beaten for it? I mean, I'm extremely girly not by choice but because I just am. I love make-up and nail polish, I love shopping and I am very flaming; I even have the gay voice/lisp, and I didn't even notice when I got that!

Because its up to God to judge and decides who deserves to get beat up or harrassed.I'm sure youv'e done something worth getting beat up over. And anyway, just because you don't like that someone is gay doesn't mean you get to beat them up.Whatever lifestyle someone chooses or is struggling with is between themselves and God.
