Be confident in yourself,,,the image you portray now will be what your employees will remember and determine how they treat you. Everyone has been in a situation where they were uncomfortable,,,but remember you are the boss, everyone sees you that way eventhough you don't. Try it, tell someone to do something and see what they do. You are in charge because you earned it. Don't be scared, because one day you will look back on this day and laugh at the thought of ever being scared.... FIRST IMPRESSIONS!!!! your employees don't know you are scared, you are just their new boss that's all.....don't let them see you as weak or they will take advantage of you.... You are not scared, JUST NEW!!!! don't worry everything will be alright! i promise!!!!

Lead person is supposed to be leader, which means mostly lead by example. When you're new at the job everyone knows it. Just make the decisions you have to. And realize the other employees will probably test you, ask you questions to which they already know the answers. Just remain calm and make good decisions.

Good luck

You better get your "Lead person" clarified from your upper management. Where I work, lead person is someone who "steers" the group towards a goal. A good question that to me would define you as a boss would be "Can you discipline?" If you can that would be a big yes. If it's"no" you are on equal ground with the others.
