contrary to popular belief no it's not illegal to purchase fakes only to sell however in italy and france they have laws against purchasing and selling fakes

There is no law against buying and using a fake designer bag for your own purposes, but it is against the law (I think) to buy fake bags for the purpose of selling them, especially if you try to pass them off as the real thing. So you can carry your fake LV, just don't try to sell it!

No-only selling the fake louis vuitton bags while advertising them as real ones is a crime.

Well i dont know if buying it is against the law.
However i know that selling them is
I live in New York and i often go to China town and all the shop owners always stand outside and tell me that there is fake bags in the back of the store and they would tell me to go in and check it out.They hide them from police.

I don't think there is anythong wrong with it but why not just buy a real one. I know a great site that sells real ones. http://www.zagahandbags.com I got two lousi vuittons from there and they are just gorgeous. authentic and everything. I work for Louis Vuitton so I know fake frome real

it's not illegal to buy the ones that have similar patterns... i don't know about the kind where they use the actual patterns and real labels.
