What state are you in?

Contact a few of the companies that you want to work for. (Werner, Covenant, C.R. England, Swift, etc...) and ask about a local school they might recommend for OTR training. Some of these companies offer reimbursement for the cost of the training. (Usually after a period of time working for them) They would be able to point you to a school that they themselves hire from.

Btw, I would really recommend Werner. They have one of the best safety records. They have some really nice perks for their drivers and I know that they actively recruit from at least some schools. Contact their HR department and tell them you would like to have a recommendation for a local school they recruit from.

I have been doing reasearch on the same deal for my boss's ex-wife and we found SWIFT to be the best deal as they offer newer equipment and a VERY reasonable 6month work requirement ,where some we looked at are up to 2 yrs. She is 40 and never driven a truck period and they are excited about hiring her so we are telling people to call SWIFT for a great oportunity
