The movie has you assuming that she has been in that freezer for a long time. Her body was already in the process of freezing and becoming hypothermic, so when the water hit her body it froze on contact. I don't know if it would happen that fast in reality but it is a definite possibility.

If someone were to use liquid oxygen or nitrogen, which has temperatures like -273 F, an entire body could be frozen solid in mere seconds.

Well,I didn't watch the film,but I guess it may depend on the temperature.In Rio de Janeiro,where I live,there is no snow,the temperatures are always above twenty degrees.But in my husband's homeland,New Zealand,the water inside the pipes are constantly freezing.It's hard even to start a car!

well just think of going outside w. wet hair in the winter 20 below zero and a wind chill warning...they sprayed her first then blew the ice cold air not sure if it could be that fast but i sure dont wanna find out
