I had wanted to switch from a Gamecube to a Playstation 2, but when the PS3 and the Wii came out I saw that the PS3 was very expensive and that the Wii was innovative. But Nintendo has more games I probably won't want to play (at least that was what it was with the Gamecube after a couple years). i am interested, though, in the wiimote and how it can function with its games. I want to play games like Final Fantasy and other RPGs of that sort, and Sony seems to have alot more of them. But it would be very expensive and Sony might lose this Console War very soon with that hefty price. and all of the sites with reviews are very mixed in their opinions. Which console, then, is the best choice?

Here's some of my interests:
RPGs
Action/Adventure
Fighting
Sci-fi shooters (Like Halo or BattleFront)
Star Wars
Final Fantasy

All depends on which game you want the most between both systems. I'm trying to find a Wii right now becasue I really wanna play Zelda and a few of the other titles in the Nintendo lineup. I'm gonna wait on the PS3 until they bring out MGS 4 which won't be for a while, and also when I'm sure to get one of their newer systems that include the smaller, more heat efficient CPU.

If Final Fantasy is what you're lookin for then Sony's system looks like your best bet.

Another alternative would be the 360 and Blue Dragon which is an incredible RPG in that Japanese style.

Sony is not going away anytime soon. Right now, Sony is struggling because of the lackluster lineup of games, but come later this month, things should start picking up for the PS3.

If you want to play RPG, then you're going to have to get the PS3. PS3 is the only console that's getting the true Final Fantasy series. The Wii is getting a Final Fantasy game, but it's the Crystal Chronicle games, which means that you'll have to have 3 other people play with you.

Some action adventure games for the PS3: Devil May Cry 4, Metal Gear Solid 4, and the next Onimusha.

As for sci-fi shooters, there's Resistance: Fall of Man.

Think of the Wii-mote as an extension of the game. If a character is wielding a gun, then the Wii-mote becomes a gun. In Tony Hawk Project 8, the Wii-mote is the skate. In Excite Truck, the Wii-mote becomes the steering wheel and the truck (You use the Wii-mote to steer, and tilt it forward or backward depending on how you want the truck to land).

It seems like you're very interested in videogames. I personally, don't know which to pick either, but I can tell you this;

If you are going to buy the PS3, wait a little longer until prices drop and until they fix bugs and glitches on it. On the other hand, if you are planning to buy the Wii, you could buy it now or wait a little longer until more colors are released

Even though the PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii are both great gaming systems and both have incredible features such as Blu-Ray Disc for the PS3 and "TV Channels" on the Wii, I don't know which one to pick. So that's all I can help you with. I hope it helped and happy gaming.

There are so many people say PS3 is sucks, why because they're stupid, PS3 is the best ever since the PS2, if I have money I just go buy a PS3 or an Xbox 360 but I will never buy a Wii even though it's $250

You should buy what interests you more. Wii has a better pricing, but PS3 kills in graphics, and has pretty good games like Resistance fall of men. Wii has a wider variety of games like sport games like tennis, bowling, and boxing, and not ot mention Zelda. And depends on how much money you have saved. PS3 is about 400, or 500 something and Wii is about 200 or 250. Foir better games and graphics, pick PS3. For simnple play and inexpensive console, pick Wii.

If I had the money, I would buy a PS3. But since I don't, I would like to get a wii, the major selling point is because I can play games from its previous systems with the Virtual Console feature. I think I will wait a while to buy it though until the supply is stable and they become more established.

Well the PS3 has something similar to the Wii remote, but the Wii is centraled around the remote. Do you want blu-ray DVD capability? If so, buy the PS3. By the way, Halo is for Xbox 360.

I think u should get a ps3 because theres a lot of good fighting games and action. Wii doesent have a lot of games and some people were using the special controller and it slipped out of there hand and hit their TV or flies out the window then u can say by to $200. By the way that is all true.

We have three kids and all of the game systems, except ps3. However, the Wii falls over easy and has destroyed all of the games that we bought for it. Needs some improvement to be kid hearty. We have had no probs with ps1, ps2, xbox, xbox 360, or gamecube...or even all of the handlehelds.....just with Wii

mom who doesn't play only pays......
