Gerrymandering.
The term originated from a politcal cartoon showing a strangly shaped voting district that was divided up by a politician named Eldrige Gerry. The cartoon had the district made into a monstrous creature and called it "The Gerrymander.

Gerrymandering, which was an accepted practice for decades under Democrats, but has come to be considered the worst thing that has ever happened in the history of Mankind once Republicans had enough seats to pull it off.
