It amazes me that there are still people out there naive enough to believe we will be safe if all we do is leave the area. It sickens me. Don't you people read? Are you so stoned you can't remember anything? Here's some things to look up:
Marine Barracks in Lebannon
USS Cole
World Trade Center before 9/11
American Embassy Tehran Iran
PanAm Lockerbee Scotland

We could stop fighting terrorism around the world, but what idiot thinks THEY will stop? So let's pull our 200,000 troops out, bring them home where they can be nuked by some Arab with a dirty bomb that walked across the border from Mexico. God you people make me sick.

Utopian, Chuck, KR, Cork, TFoley... you really need to wake up and smell the camels. THEY are at war with us, and have proved around the world they will attack us where we are, simply because of who we are and what we stand for: freedom and democracy. If I walk up and slap you, you walk away. If I continue to follow you and slap you everytime you stop, at what point do you fight back? Don't look for help, the police understand that your presence is why you are being slapped, the people watching don't really want to get involved because they might get slapped too. So what do you do? I will slap you to death just because I don't like you. Will you fight or will you die?

No, if we pull out with out any stability in the region both places will fold like a house of cards and america will be seen as weak and more attacks on our interests and our soil will take place. Unfortunatley Saddam was a dictator that could control the chaos that Iraq is. Now, thankfully, that time is gone and Iraq is falling apart. It's falling apart becasue it was so fragile in the first place. A new system of government and a new way of life needs to come to Iraq. They have no leader, and if we leave Iran will supply one for thier best interests and we know how Iran feels about the west.

Stay or go it makes no difference on the US, because the policy makers in Washington continue to misuse their authority regarding foreign policies at the bidding of large Corporations, who are reaping trillions of dollars by abusing the peoples of other countries as cheap labour or stealing their natural resources or meddling in their politics in the name of commerce & capitalism. Heck... the US even does these very things to a good neighbour like CANADA & gets away with it! So no we are not safe even if we pull out of Iraq & Afghanistan. BIG TROUBLE will continue to abide if we don't smarten up & address these issues! No matter which party is in office at the time, all are responsible & the people need to take a stand.

The either or notion is a priori incomplete. There are alternative actions which are not being considered due to the extant fanaticism. Red or Blue, Black or White.
Such drivel for a purported "advanced" country.

No, we should stay in Iraq and Afghanistan till we win the war. When do we win the war ? ummmm, I dunno when we will win the war......... maybe we should stay at war and wait another 25 years, then maybe the war will be won............. yeah, that sounds like a good solution to the problem of our soldiers getting killed everyday........They're giving they're lives away, I can't imagine waisting 4 to 5 years of my life. :o

I don't ever think it will be safe again. There is too much hatred in this world. I don't think it matters wheather we are over there or not. We need to tell them that they have so long to get there act together so we can get our soldiers home.
