I've had pain in my side for going on about a month and a half. It's on my right side slightly under my ribs. I went to the doctor over it and she said it was just an infection and I took some antibiotics for it and it still hurts. It's not a killer pain but enough to cause me discomfort. Sometimes it hurts when I'm hungry, sometimes it hurts after I've eaten. I don't have the money to really get the tests done I probably need to but I just want to know what's causing it. If you need any more info just ask and I'll post it.
Thanks so much!!

Okay to add to questions asked...
*I know it's not an std, I'm very physically active so I drink alot of water everyday
*I'm 18, can you get stones at that age?
*And if it was a stone would it have hurt this long? ('bout a month and a half?)
*Dr. felt around on my tummy, the pain is daily, mostly when I'm hungry and right after I eat and sometimes it just decides to hurt, it's sharp if i'm hungry and dull after i eat and just plain aggrivating sometimes
*It's just on my right side, right under my ribs and sometimes actually under my bottom 2 ribs
*No stress, routine has been normal
*No sugrey
*She said it was an infection in part of my small intestines
*I think that covers it
Thanks again!! =D

When you went to the DR. did she just assume? Or did they run test to find this infection? It looks like your DR would want to know what is causing the infection! Describe the pain.(constant, sharp, shooting, etc..) Does it start on your right side and move to anywhere else.. Do you have any other symptoms with it, like vomiting,etc... Have you recently had surgery? Are you going through any stress? Anything you started doing within the month that you haven't done before? Be as detail as you can, please..
Could be alot of things.. Stress can cause alot, also infection. There's Gaul bladder stones, appendicitis, who knows only tests will reveal..

I had the same thing happen and it was a kidney stone. By the time I complained about it to the Dr. They did an ultrasound. By then it had already passed to my blatter. Of course that hurt for a day or few and then I passed it. But I would say drink lots of water and It should pass. If It was on the other side it could be other things. But this is a stone garrenteed . If you should start running a fever you should go back to the dr. .Somteimes they are to big to pass. Of course men have that problem more.

hmm?
Well, honey...we need more detail to properly diagnose this.
Like..........
WHAT SIDE is the pain on.
If you dc tells you "Its just an infection"~ why didn't you ask of what exactly is infected?
Your dc makes no sense to me.
YOU and only you are responsible for your health and healing. Doctors do not care anymore, if they ever did in the first place? The point is.....your doc SHOULD HAVE told u WHAT EXACTLY IS INFECTED!
You need to find a NEW Dc soon, and get rechecked. This could be SERIOUS...it could be gall stones, kidney infection or appendicitis! Go soon to an ER and demand (nicely of course) but with conviction....that they Xray your entire abdomen!
Good luck honey! God bless you!~

Since I am not a doctor I feel a bit worried to give you advice. I think you really need to see a doctor. Maybe you can get your parents or a friend to loan you the money.
Or you can go to the emergency room and wait until they will see you.

sounds like you may have gall stones, you need to get this checked out as soon as possible, I went to my doctor for months, wasn't till i was vomiting blood that she sent me to the surgeon to get it checked out, I could have died, I have a different doctor now!
