I believe it is molten elements fueled by nuclear reaction like the sun. The crust floats on this core. Heavy water (deuterium) H2O2 is a by product of nuclear reactions. It is found in the sea. Its half life is not very long. So it must be renewing all the time with lava seepage in certain ares of the ocean bottom.
