Seriously, the school my daughter is going to next fall offers just such a thing...you must be at least 6'2" to apply. Isn't this unfair to those of us who are vertically challenged?
I'm not really upset by this but it is a bit strange.....isn't it??
By the way, my daughter got an academic scholarship so we are very happy about that.

Peter, I didn't say I was going to file a complaint..I think it's quite humorous actually. But a "Short" Scholarship would be nice, don't you think? ;-)
Anfprep- thanks, your answer is very funny. =0)

That's unfair. Must be sports related .. right ?
Congrats on your daughter's scholarship tho! At least she got hers for what's in her head ;; not how high up it is! =)

People donate money for scholarships for lots of different things. It could have been that someone offered the University money for a Tall Scholarship because they themselves were tall. Maybe they were teased in school about how tall they were and wanted to offer someone like them an advantage.
Scholarships are frequently privately funded. It's not unfair or fair. It just _is_.
And, as my mom was so frequently heard quoting, "Life isn't fair. You have the right to pursue happiness, not for it to be given to you." (Usually said when there was only enough dessert left for one.) ;)

Wow, that's weird having a scholarship for something a person doesn't have any control over. That would be almost as weird as having a scholarship based on a person's race, or gender, and they don't have tho- Oh wait. They do. Never mind. I guess the whole system is prejudicial. What a shocker!

In a way, Trump did the right thing, because if he'd taken away her crown the Christians would have turned her into some sort of martyr. I mean, their REAL martyr died on a wooden cross topless AND wearing a crown, so it's no big deal ;-) But srsly, the only thing that surprises me is that her 15 Minutes of Fame aren't up yet. Liberty U can do whatever it wants, I doubt folks'll still notice anyway.

That sounds alot like some minority scholarships. If schools aren't getting enough students of an ethnic group, they can offer them a scholarship. Maybe they aren't getting enough tall students. What's the difference, really? Yeah, it's probably wrong, but that doesn't seem to matter anyways.

I never heard of that. But there is a scholarship for just about anything it appears.

it's the same thing as offering a scholarship for people of certain races or ethnicities.......the person has as much control over their race as a tall person has control over their height. a tall person can experience prejudices against them due to their height.

I thought they already gave these out under the guise of basketball scholarships.

That seriously doesn't make any sense at all- what a weird scholorship. I would imagine it is based on the trust that set it up.
