I have a 1998 Honda Accord and I cannot close its hood completely. I feel the pull handle is loose. I don't know if the release cable is broken or something else. Hope anybody can tell me how to fix it. Thanks.

The first thing you should look at is the hinges. make sure they arent bent in any way. also make sure the latch on the front of your hood is not bent left or right. If you cant tell, a body shop will usualy look at it for free and it wont cost much to fix.

If the pull cable feels loose, it probably has a kink in it somewhere that's stopping it from returning to the locked position. Try carefully pulling the cable back towards the latch under the hood. And be prepared to buy another cable - if this is the problem, the cable will wear at the kink and eventually snap.

try spraying some lubricant on the latch. and try and work the latch manualy with a flat head screwdriver. it may be frozen stiff, or just jammed up. find where the cable attaches to the latch, and see if you can't move that aswell. good luck.

it may be the latch is out of adjustment you can usually loosen a couple bolts and slide it up or down until it latches if nothing else is messed up
