I am a sophomore in highschool and I want to be a broadcaster (mainly sports) and i am currently in a career shadow program, awaiting a letter for my shadowing time. i feel that there is not a lot my school can do, i signed up for a trip to our local univeristy (Binghamton University, upstate NY) for a career expo (career day type thing) and i feel i've done all i can. I called some local radio stations and Time Warner Cable b/c they broadcast local sports and Time Warner said they have programs for seniors only, and the other radio stations didnt even contact me back, is there anything else i can do

my grade right now is an 87 and i know that if i want to get into a good school after highschool that i must improve my grade significantly but my whole school career has been hovering around 91-92, which still isnt enough to get into my target school, Syracuse University.

.. a lot higher than mine (around 95-96) but i am more talented broadcasting and personality wise. i wish to take sports literature, journalism, and public speaking as electives in my junion/senior year


is there any more i can do, i want this job more than anything but i just dont think i can pull it off grades wise.

Keep trying and don't give up. Many schools/companies will look past slightly lower grades if they think you have the skills to do well. Try making some demo tapes for the radio stations and see if that helps.
