ok, so i'm in cjsf (california junior scholarship federation) and we get to go to Knott's Berry Farm. My best friend is also coming along but she thinks the whimpy rides are scary. and they're really, really whimpy. i want to go on the big ones. we're going at night from 6 pm to 2 am (they close Knott's down for us), and i don't want to go on the rides alone. she would go with me, but i need the right words to convince her. and do you think that's enough time? usually when i go with my family, it takes the whole day to go on all the rides. and what are the best rides to go on? the scariest and most fun? give at least a couple and 10 pts are coming towards the best answer!!!

YAY for CJSF! I'm an alumni! We did the same thing back in 1995 and had a blast! I came from Gustine, CA.

I've been going to Knotts since I was a baby. I had the same situation as well with my best friend. We ended up having to compromise. She just wouldn't go one them. And if you're a good friend, you won't pressure her. I would go on a scarier ride while she waited or got us drinks, and then we'd go on something tamer together next. It worked out fine and we both had a great time. And you won't have to worry about long lines. The park won't be that crowded so not to worry.

Montezuma's Revenge is one of Knott's classic rides and also one of the best. It is the large yellow coaster, just on the other side of Camp Snoopy. Its quick (one loop one way, then backwards again), but it packs a punch!
My sister loves the Silver Bullet. I haven't had a chance to go it yet, but she has and its now one of her favorites.
Ok, on to a tamer ride for your friend.... my most favorite ride in the entire park is the Log Ride. It only has the one drop at the end and it isn't that bad. Disney World's Splash Mountain has a steeper fall, so she should be fine on this. Its just a lot of fun and also, one of Knott's Berry Farm's oldest attractions - an oldie but a goodie!

Another tame ride is the Jaguar coaster. I know it doesn't look like it - but it is. There are no loops, just fun ups and downs and curves. Tell your friend that if my 4 year old neice can handle it, she can too. :)

Big Foot Rapids are a ton of fun - but it may be too cold outside for you to ride that. And it will be night, so you won't dry. Only go on this ride if you pack rain ponchos. Put on the ponchose and then ride it - you'll enjoy it without being soaked afterwards.
This attraction is only open seasonally, so it may not even be open when you go.

Be sure to see the Mystery Lodge show, located right next to Big Foot Rapids. It is amazing! You actually see an animatronic of an Indian dissapear right before your eyes! It gives me goosebumps everytime.

Ghost Town is also amazing. Suprise your friend with this old family trick of ours. There is an old jail house in Ghost Town. Right next to the jail house is a man sitting in a booth. Ask your friend to dissapear for a minute (have her grab you a drink or something) and run over there. You give the guy all the info on your friend you want. Then bring your friend over to the Jail. You'll see a dummy of a guy in there. then, suddenly, he begins to talk to you and your friend! And you can talk back. My grandpa always did this to my little sister and I and we could never figure out how he did it until I visited years later and figured it out.

Make Dining Reservations for Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner Theatre. This restaurant fills up super fast (try the boysenberry pie and juice drink!). It is located just outside the main gates in the marketplace area. Or dine at the Calico Saloon in Ghost Town for the same type of foods (fried chicken, mashed potatoes, salad, etc...).

Feel free to email me at the address listed below. I've been to Knott's many many times and love it! I'd be happy to answer any other questions you may have. Go CJSF!

If you ask this question in the amusement park section you'll get a lot more answers. You've asked the question in the Orlando, Florida section and Knott's Berry Farm is located in Buena Park, California.

Anyway, I don't think you have to worry about only being there for eight hours. If they've closed down the park especially for the C.J.S.F. then they're likely only letting in a limited amount of people, and you'll be there late in the evening, so it probably won't be too packed. It's like the "Extra Magic Hours" at the Walt Disney World theme parks. A few hours when the park is only open to actual Guests of the Walt Disney World Resort. My boyfriend and I were at the Magic Kingdom (it was open only to Guests until 2:00, too) and we basically walked right onto every attraction. It was awesome!

I think some of the best attractions at Knott's Berry Farm are GhostRider (the world's best wooden roller coaster), Xcelerator (the world's best launch coaster), and Supreme Scream. And don't miss out on Camp Snoopy! Snoopy's the greatest! I used to have a beagle named Snoopy, although she was a girl unlike the original Snoopy, and so he's always been my favorite cartoon character.

Anyway, hope I could help! Have fun!

It may be hard to convince your friend to go on the rides. If she likes really easy going rides, she probably won't want to go on some of the better rides at Knotts.

The amount of time you get in the park should be plenty, you may find you don't even need that much. I'm not sure if you have ever gone to parks at Disney or Universal for their grad nights. Basically, the park is only open for seniors that will be graduating that year, no one else is allowed in the park. It really limits the amount of people. Most of the time you will be able to walk right onto the rides. I'm not sure how many people will be going to this event, but I am pretty sure it will be a lot less than what would normally be there. You may have a short wait in line, but I would say for the most part you will be able to walk right on.

As Katlyn ♥ Disney said, in Disney when they offer the extra magic hours, you can almost walk right onto all the rides in the park. If you consider how many people have the option to go to this, anyone staying at a Disney resort, that is still a lot of people that are able to get in the park. I would assume that you won't have quite that man people in the park, so you should be good to go.

Rides- There are a lot of really great rides at Knotts. I will tell you my favorite based on location:

Wild Water Wilderness- Big Foot Rapids, I'm not sure if you want to get wet, but if you don't mind, this is a great ride. I think they are fun, not all that thirlling/scary, but still a blast.

Boardwalk- This where the majority of my favorite rides are.

Boomerang, tons of loops and a great ride, then it goes backwards, it is awesome.

Supreme Scream, these rides are great too, you go straight up and then they drop you, quite a thrill.

Perilous Plunge, again, a great ride if you don't mind getting a little wet.

Fiesta Village- Jaguar is just a great ride, not too thrilling, but still a fun one. Montezooma's Revenge is pretty fast, has huge loops and like Boomerang, once you think you are done, you do it again, but go backwards!

Ghost Town- Timber Mountain Log Ride: nother water ride and well worth getting wet if you don't mind. GhostRider: A great wooden coaster.

Camp Snoopy is cute, but the rides are more for small children. I am not sure they will even have it open, assuming it will only be older kids in the park. It is cute if you have the time to visit, but since you are worried about time, I would wait to see it. If you have extra time you may want to hit some of the rides again!

Have a great time!
