Well, "going into heat" would require some kind of menstruation, and since reptiles don't, uhm... yeah.
They do go into a sort of "breeding heat" as in they get kind of wacky trying to dig in a nesting box and fasting. It's not uncommon that iggies will not eat for for weeks on end, as they prep their bodies for egg laying. This is a MAJOR health concern as many owners do not understand that egg-binding is a common cause of death in Iguanas. Most end up having the eggs surgically removed and spaying their little lizards. If you suspect your iggy has eggs, take her to a vet ASAP! You may save you and your iguana from a lot of problems in the future.

Just wanna point out that iguanas don't go into heat, that's a mammal thing. There are plenty of good books on keeping iguanas with information about breeding requirements. If you're asking for that reason, please go purchase one of these books. Thank you.

The month that they are in season depends on where you live; and season usually lasts about 2 months. It varies a little depending on the age of your ig and how sexually mature he/she is. Younger igs have a shorter season.
